5 months and milestones

Can't believe that my baby is 5 and a half months old.  He is continuing to grow and learn every day. I watch him in amazement at all of the changes. Sometimes he'll do something and it brings tears to my eyes knowing that yesterday he wasn't doing that and today he's bigger. Today I was carrying him and his bottle upstairs to get ready for his morning nap. You can imagine my face when he grabbed the bottle out of my hands and put it in his mouth himself. Really?! When did he learn to do that?!

Grant on February 28. Five months old.
Some of his latest milestones include:
  • He can hold his own bottle if you tip it up for him ... and he obviously now knows how to snatch it out of my hands and put it in his mouth, too.
  • He knows where we keep the bottles and looks to see if they're full and if he sees one he screams until he gets it... whether it's feeding time or not.
  • He can grab his pacifier and attempts to put it in his mouth. And now he's usually successful.
  • He's eating rice cereal, squash, peas and today we started bananas. He LOVES to eat and he's really good at it! (This makes Mommy so happy!)
  • He can drink out of a glass (with lots of help, obviously) and is slowly learning how to use a straw.
  • He takes 2 naps and has successfully transitioned to sleeping and napping in his crib!
  • He wants whatever you have in your hands, especially the computer, camera, cell phone and Daddy's game controllers.
  • He has mastered sitting and will now reach for objects that are out of his reach. He attempts to crawl to get them but doesn't like to be on his belly. Therefore, he's learned to scootch on his bum across the floor to get whatever he wants.
  • He lifts his arms up when you walk into the room and he wants picked up.
  • He takes his blanket and hides his face to play "Peek-a-boo" with you.
  • And today we felt TEETH poking through. Both of his bottom ones.
All of these things make me ask, "Where is my baby?!" He's becoming his own personality every day.
We think that Grant is starting to look more like Mommy!
