The Best I Can

Thank you to all of my friends and family who reached out to me after Sunday's blog post. The support, love and encouragement is exactly what I needed to put on my big girl panties and see that everything will be okay. Emotional, yes. Stressful, yes. Difficult, yes. But really it will be okay. It sounds like every mama that leaves her baby and goes back to work faces the same stressors and fears that I'm grappling with now. It has been helpful to hear how each of you survived it and how each of your kiddos thrived because of it. So I'm going to turn the page to my baby turning one, to him going to day care and me coming off the bench and returning to the working world.

I also want to add a disclaimer to Sunday's post. After I hit publish and my words made it to the internet for all to see & to some of your email boxes, Mark confided in me that he was hurt that the post made him seem like a dead-beat dad ... which isn't the case and certainly wasn't my intention. He's a great dad - and becoming an even better one with everyday and it is extremely evident that he loves Grant very much. So to clarify, my point was that his work is demanding of his time at the office and with travel, thus adding to my stress to handle all things Grant, house, and dog-related. Add a 45+ hour work week of my own in there and it can be a little overwhelming just to think about.

But it's one foot in front of the other. Focus on the big priorities. And it all will be okay! Right?! RIGHT!

No, there are not enough hours in a day to fit it all in.
Our passions, our talents, our friends, our kids, our jobs,
our list of to dos.
And the answer to "How does she do it?"
is probably always going to be "...the best she can."
